We’ve all has those mornings right? The alarm didn’t go off, kids are running you ragged, time is of the essence and somehow you’ve still got to get ready and be out of the door in the next 10 minutes! This 5 minute makeup routine is about to save your life…
Some mornings I’m ready and rearing to go, others I’m lazy…like really lazy and as much as I love makeup, on these particular lazy mornings, I’d rather be sipping my espresso in the sun than primping and priming myself for the day. That being said, I still don’t want to frighten the life out of people when I walk out of the door, so I’ve perfected my 5 minute makeup routine to help me out on those said mornings.
All women dream of leaving the house fabulously put together every day, the reality is we’re lucky if we can remember to put mascara on both eyes some mornings, so if you’re interested to know how my 5 minute makeup routine can get you out of the door feelin’ fly and (relatvely) on time…read on.
Firstly, get your skin prepared the night before, it will save a huge amount of time in the morning. If you remove the makeup, cleanse and tone beforehand, all that’s left to do first thing in the morning is whack on your moisturiser and let it work its magic. If you can find one with SPF, even better.
I particularly love using Clarins Radiance – Plus Golden Glow Booster. It’s a natural formula that provides all the benefits of a self-tanner without the hassle! Its high-precision dosage works with any day or night cream to deliver made-to-measure results. Simply add 1, 2 or 3 drops to your daily moisturiser and you are good to go. This product is life!
Next, I use the Beauty Pie Matte retouch primer mixed with the pro glow superstrobing drops, the copper liquid really catches the light and gives my face a wonderful subtle healthy sheen.
Moving onto the eyes, I use the MAC 24 hour extended eye base I could not live without this product. I use it every day and it ensures that whatever I use on my eyes, be it light, medium or heavy coverage eye make up, it’s not going anywhere. Dipping into the NARS Wanted eye pallette, I just want something that’s going to frame the eyelid and not be too heavy. I’ve opted for shade Seven Heaven Matte Sand. (2nd row, 1st pigment from left to right)
Finally I’m rounding it off with my new Summer fav; Clarins Light Lip Comfort Oil in shade 01 Honey. This oil nourishes the lips, and enhances their natural beauty. It’s spectactularly shiny without the formula leaving a sticky residue on the lip not to mention that the applicator is pure genius. I’m a big fan of these lip oils and the range has the prettiest colours.
Here is the Clarins Lip Oil range swatched below.
And that’s it, 5 minutes, 5 products. A stress free 5 minute makeup routine that’s saved my skin on more than one occasion when I’m fighting the clock.
